I was exaggerating but Lukaku has brilliant potential and will be twice the player Benteke is. I don't think he'll cost £25m, probably somewhere closer to what BMG suggested, or a bit more. £15-20m I'd guess.

Last summer Benteke wanted out and handed in a transfer request, what happened? Ended up retracting the transfer request and signed a new contract!

Villa would be nothing without Benteke, so they will hang on to him no matter what, unless they get a big bid that can really tempt them into submission.

Read somewhere that his agent has hinted at an exit in the summer if the price is right.

Lukaku does not just need cover, he needs COMPETITION. Buying Batshuayi and then sending him on loan would be absolutely ridiculous, the only possible reason would be to receive a loan fee in order to reduce the outlay, or maybe Martinez really is too scared of upsetting his players that he couldn't cope with having two players competing for the same position, both such reasons are utterly pathetic.

Having adequate 'cover' does not mean signing the crappest players you can possibly buy so that they can step in and play crap when someone gets injured. Anyone who is providing 'cover' should also be capable of fighting for a first team place!

Kenwyne Jones is a DOWNGRADE on Jelavic. He can't even get in the Stoke side. Jones' stats in the last the last three seasons read:

Played 21 Scored 1
Played 26 Scored 3
Played 7 Scored 0.

He is worse than Jelavic, and he is on 40k a week FFS!

Never understand why we moan about getting new faces in, we need numbers, the growing injury list now is proof of that; pretty sure that RM wouldn't get in any old ****e. If am proved wrong, so be it, not like we've never had ****e here in the past.
 
I have a theory... we're linking ourselves with Kenwyne Jones so when we sign a striker who isn't Michy, it won't sound as bad.

christ, what is going on... read the last few pages and all i see is talk about kenwyne jones and wigan players.

pls tell me this is all bs and we aren't going to go down this route.
