Hmmmm, by fitting in to the possession system we play, building slowly from the back, I guess you want a forward who can bring others in to play. Good technical ability, good passer of the ball, bit of flair to open up teams who park the bus.
Now, I'm not ****ging Rom off but, I don't think he has the previous listed abilities in spades. What he does have, strength, size, power, adequate finisher etc makes up for that. So while he has worked out (he's a very good player) for us this year, I don't think he is ideal for our style of play. By extension I very much doubt Jones, a downgrade on Rom in almost every department, would be good for us.
Sadly we missed out on Negrado, as I think he would have been perfect. Big and strong, with great technical ability and a touch of Berbatov about him with his vision and awareness.
It's a shame with what happened with Niki, as when he came he looked like the real deal and seemed to have many of the attributes that we require.
P.s. As a centre forward Niki > Hibbo > Howard > Jones
