Villa is really a winger, and I was talking about current Spainish strikers, beleive Raul is a touch past it now!! :P

Wouldn't really call Soldado a class striker, did well in Spain but over here it's a whole different kettle of fish, Soldado has only really scored penalties, and when i've watched him play he's been second season Jelavic-esque

Has to be Lukaku for me, he lets the dreads roam free, much like Predator, I can't respect a man like Jones that wears dreads in a ponytail.

I've set this up on Kenwyne's driveway to let him know of my displeasure at him being linked with us, he'll be fuming when he gets back from training, if he's been arsed to go training today obviously.

Fully agree, gotta unleash those dreads to get the full Predator effect.

I'm not too sure ol' Ken will take that as an insult. He may think you're rewarding him with some kind of medieval banquet. Careful now, don't want to entice him...
 
This is the silly season forum so I'm going throw my hat into the ring imagine the signing of Fernando Llorente ... Rumours on net that he hasn't settled throw in a bid test the waters !! Suppose good to dream

Getting in another striker as backup that are quality will be extremely difficult as they would also want to play most games if they are quality. However...if we bring in a quality player that can play across the front 4 it opens up a lot of options to allow adequate game time to keep everyone happy. However we already have Mirallas who can play as a striker and have played as a striker for a few seasons at Olympiacos.

Thus McGeady enters the equation...all of a sudden we now have a good winger that can start...allowing Mirallas to start as Striker IF we need him in that position. Deulofeu we must also remember might be here for another season...giving us a lot of options on the wings now. However...IF Mirallas starts as Winger and we need to throw on a fresh striker we still need backup...but only backup. And it might mean that the striker we might sign will be a backup striker...BUT our main backup for starting incase of injury etc might be Mirallas. This changes as to what we might need as backup in the striker department maybe. And might free up finances (by saving of a expensive striker in this window) to bring in Lukaku on a permanent at the end of the season.

Once again...total speculation and possibly a pipe dream BUT just maybe it might be in our managers back of his head. Why did he say to Lukaku when Lukaku said he might consider staying IF we get CL that he must score the goals. Maybe I am reading too much into it all but here is hoping Lukaku is on our long term plan and thus we might ONLY get in a good backup striker but not a quality striker due to Mirallas that can fill into that position for now. OR maybe I am too tired this early morning to think rational...lol

Said this a few monthes ago when he wasnt getting much game time, but recently hes started getting a lot of game time and is scoring
