I think maybe Martinez is in a bit of a quandary - He obviously rates Kone (I do as well actually), and is happy to see him as our number two striker for next season. The striker to replace Lukaku (or Romelu himself) will be easier to sign in the summer - so I think in his mind he's looking at a striker who he knows will only really be 3rd choice. Obviously he'll want quality but he may well want to spend as little as possible to enable a big bid in the summer for the first choice striker.
For that reason - I really wouldn't be amazed to see Jones come in. Dismayed but not totally surprised.

You have to admire Jones, and his determination to join us. How many players do you know that have gone on strike to force a move to us?? That type of effort and determination is rare in modern day players.
No he wouldn't, at all. In the last 2 and a half years at Stoke he's scored 4 league goals. That's 3 less than Jelavic got last season
