Sorry, mate, I still think Pienaar is so important to our possession football he has to be a 'shoo in' on every team sheet. Even when Arteta left, I was so pleased that our more influential midfielder (Pienaar) remained, and we missed him badly when he went to Spurs. No matter whether he's playing well or not, he always shows for the ball, always makes those clever little darts, and works like mad (often a bit clumsily, leading to most of his cards) to recover possession when we lose the ball.

People moan about him giving the ball away, but it's rarely, if ever, due to a bad touch; it's always through trying something creative. To me he personifies his Ajax upbringing (totaal veotbal) sprinkled with South African magic dust. What a player. He's Everton, him!

Agree with all of that mate, we really did miss him when he went to Spurs.

Central to how we want to play, just wish he'd score more often.

I reckon we will mate! McGeady, Traore and maybe 2 others would be a sound transfer window IMO. Especially with Barkley, Baines and Coleman getting new deals, happy days!
