Silly Season January 2014

Maybe the fact we aren't getting anyone else in is how high our wage bill is.

Maybe we can't afford to get anymore players in, considering what Roberto said about Heitinga.

This is something I suggested the other day that wouldn't be unreasonable.

It's one thing to expect a certain amount of money for transfer/agents fees, but most likely a club with our finances would have to keep a tight reign on the wages and that maybe regardless of our circumstances we need to keep it below a certain level. Johnnys wages could be hindering this, as the board will not allow us to go above a certain level until the income increases and therefore the % of wage bill vs turnover...or something like that. I'm no expert in this stuff, so feel free to rip it apart Davek ;)

I don't think its too much of a stretch.

What I'm basically saying though is what was said earlier.....koff Johnny!

A lad at work said this to me this morning, weird.

He's a Dundee fan though so what the hell does he actually know?

Berba is prob the most natural footballer in the league, laziest too ! Not for me thanks.

He has definitely been less bothered since his settling period at Fulham, which suggests a poor attitude. This we knew about Berbatron before, but I think would be different if playing for us as he would be part of a club seemingly going somewhere and with more interesting goals at the end of the season and beyond.

He is technically probably the best in the Prem, his control and passing accuracy and speed of thought are fantastic.

If we got normal Berba, who looks lazy but not all players need to run around and harry defenders remember, at even close to his best I think we would be getting an important missing link in our play.

Think Pienaar spinning his marker....bearing down on the box....but then actually scoring or slotting in a team mate...minus Pienaars workrate of course.

Distin- Inured + Old (no offense)
Jagielka- Recovering from injury + Captain
Stones- Very inexperienced
Alcaraz- Gets injured by just playing games (muscle fatigue)
Heitinga- Fit and touring europe apparently.

Can you see where i am coming from? :)

Distin just signed an extension, not far a way from being fit,
What's wrong with Stones being inexperienced? If you're good enough you're old enough
Alcaraz only has muscle fatigue because he was out for such a long time
Heitinga - fit but **** and on a massive wedge

Guaranteed to upset the apple cart.

But do you not think his attitude is more because Fulham just hover over relegation and don't really have any chance of acheiving something?

I mean, its not a great attitude at all in general, but if he was closer to his usual self here with proper targets and a chance of a cup or 4th place then I think we would forget his attitude at Fulham.

Anyways, I doubt it'll happen.

Martinez attitude in that press conference has disappointed me. Everyone knows that our squad is small and we need to add. It shouldn't rely on Heitinga going out because we needed two players even with him here.

It's suicide to go into the rest of the season without adding one or two more.

Surely we have to get another forward in. Traore may be out for 2 weeks, then probably only fit from the bench, then he has to bed in to the style of the league.

With Lukaku likely out for a few weeks too, we can't be left with no fit strikers for this long when we mathematically can still get 4th (I know we won't)
