"EVERTON are poised to complete the signing of promising teenage Czech keeper Jindrich Stanek and pursue a loan deal for a midfield enforcer before tonight’s transfer deadline."

The Toffees have agreed a deal with Sparta Prague for the highly-rated Czech youth international Stanek who is considered by the club to be a star of the future.
Stanek, 17, has yet to make a first-team appearance for Sparta but the 6ft 4in youngster has been on the bench on a number of occasions.
Should Stanek make the grade at Goodison the deal could eventually be worth in excess of £200,000 to the Czech club.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is also attempting to add a defensive midfielder on loan from his native Spain before the window closes.
Atletico Madrid’s Mario Suarez, who has only recently returned from injury, is thought to be one player on Martinez’s radar although any deal would hinge on John Heitinga leaving Goodison Park.
Dutch defender Heitinga had looked to be on his way to Galatasaray in search of more playing time before the World Cup only for the move to hit a snag but it could be pushed through today.
The Toffees are unlikely to follow up their initial interest in Ajax defender Niklas Moisander this month with a move for the Finland captain more likely in the summer.
Meanwhile, Lacina Traore says he snubbed a loan move to West Ham in favour of Everton because he did not want to play for long-ball merchant Sam Allardyce.
The powerful Monaco striker had a late change of heart and opted for Goodison ahead of the Hammers because of the way they play football under Martinez.
“The football is different between Everton and West Ham,” Traore said. “I watch games quite a lot, and have seen both sides play. I came to the conclusion that I would fit in better at Everton.
“I think from what I’ve seen Everton keep the ball on the ground a bit more, and pass the ball around and I like that.”

We play in the Premier League, even if everyone was fit the squad would still need improving.
The current Everton squad isn't good enough to gain Champions League qualification. It needed adding to before the injury crisis.
Problem is, even though we have struggled heavily with injuries we can't just keep adding players.
Those players injured are still being payed the same amount each week. Like myself and someone mentioned before, the wage bill is a huge issue with our poor revenue.
Even though Moyes/Fellaini/Neville/Anichebe/Mucha have left we have added more players, better quality I might add from last year. So the quote from Martinez saying it is dependent on Heitinga leaving to add more makes complete sense.
It is frustrating but we need to reassess in the summer and go from there, there a few players who are just not good enough.
I much rather wait and build the squad wisely in the summer, like finding a young striker and signing Barry etc.
We have players coming back in the next week so we should hopefully look stronger.
Not sure we need another keeper but Howard is getting older and would be good competition for Robles. At 200k why not? Also, The loan move for a DM makes sense to me. Need the cover and RM said a replacement for Gibson which i take to mean he has Gibson in his plan for next year.
Aren't we maxed on loans?
West Ham are in for Mitroglou as well according to Sky. The Reds will likely get done over again for that Ukrainian if Spurs and Arsenal are interested
domestic (BPL) loans are maxed at 2, I think its unlimited foreign loans
