Silva must go

last year I got told that silva was the man. and he needed to be taken seriously...

free season last season.... which was to be expected..

then people like @Connor and @MarcelsGoat told me that I was very wrong and that our outstanding from of last few games of last season had made me look utterly foolish, cos silva had produced top 4 form from nowhere (other than a 2 week holiday in dubai)

I was fully aware that my silva prediction would come and bite me in the ass this season... more money spent, dead wood gone etc etc..

we got gifted a very very very easy start to the season... the silva lovers had us in the top 3 after 4 games, esp after what we turned into last season... world beaters, the Barcelona of Merseyside ..

I stand here corrected and am willing to see out the 3 years with silva… as I was soo obviously wrong to start with.

I look forward to our progess under silva this year... and couldn't hope for a better man to lead us to glory

The really worrying thing is how Silva is unable to change things tactically when things aren't working out.
Theres lots of things to worry about Lou,the rigid formation for every single game, the only tactic to throw on forwards,if he could get away with it he would throw Dunc on,the fact we gently float crosses in then wonder why we struggle to score or defend corners, the utter confusion when we got a throw in on the right after Coleman had gone off,the list is endless

The heatmap for Cenk Tosun and Mosie Kean is telling - especially given our dominance of possession:

67212

Man United are the weakest on paper of the 'big 6' but even then they have players like De Gea, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Maguire and Wan Bissaka.

Why do you think you are any better than West Ham who have Haller, Lanzini, Anderson, Yarmalenko, Rice, Fornals etc? Or Leicester with Vardy, Maddison, Ndidi, Tielemans, Chillwell, Pereira. Wolves have Moutinho, Neves, Jimenez, Boly, Jota. Be realistic. There's a lot of good teams in the PL.
We're crap but at least we aren't Swansea.

Just to clarify, I don't believe he deserves sacking. I see this as a long-term project in which the club and the manager grows in tandem. Mistakes will be made, and today was one horrendous mistake, but there has been enough glimpses of promise to indicate that Marco Silva has what it takes to take us forward.

I thought that but I am feeling despairing six games in....He needs to get results in the short term too. Currently he looks inflexible and tactically inept.

I think we need to be realistic about this. Sheffield United's two goals came from individual errors, as opposed to tactical ineptitude. We were able to create chances, and on another day it could have easily been a different scoreline.

I can't help but feel that everyone is overreacting a little. 6 games into a 38 game season is no time to call into question the manager - especially given the fact that we played brilliantly toward the end of last season.

Deffo mate. The other worrying thing for me is when we went one down was the body language of the players out there, heads went down, not a good sign considering it was only in the 40th minute.

I beg to differ, six games into a 38 game season is the perfect time to change your manager, six games left in a 38 game season when you are staring relegation in the face is too late to change your manager. Let us make no mistake about it, losing to Bournemouth and Sheffield United is relegation form.
We were looking for the chance to be in the top six not the chance that we might beat Sheffield Wednesday. No doubt we will hear the rallying calls from players that now is the time to stand up and be counted, I have a message for them, the time to stand up and be counted is every time you pull on the shirt not after you have let the supporters down with another piss poor performance.

I understand your frustration, but 6 games in is no time to sack a manager.

We seem to be saying this a lot lately mate. 65% possession against Palace, 65% possession against Villa, 60% possession against Bournemouth, 70% possession against Sheff Utd.
