Silva must go

We were literally handed the best possible start to a season for as long as i can remember. With respect to the teams we have faced so far, on paper that was the easiest start we could ever of imagined. Crystal Palace, Watford, Villa, Wolves, Bournemouth and Sheff Utd and we have come out of that with 7 points and 5 goals to our name.

Strange decisions in the transfer market, players coming into the new season looking lethargic, players getting knocks consistently, strange tactical decisions and team selections before and during games, no fight, no desire.......... There is something definitely wrong at the club.

The body language from Silva yesterday from missed half chances said it all. The camera pointed towards him numerous times and you can sense and read something is wrong and he knows he is on borrowed time.

They didn't buy the players for Silva, they bought them for Everton. Brands has the idea of the type of player he wants. WHEN Silva goes, the next one SHOULD be a tweak, not a Koeman-esque massive rehaul.
Fair enough if he has a coach in mind I just find it a bit kneejerk. We lost two big players this summer and two of our first choice midfielders are out. Am I happy with the tactics, defending or subs no, but can I see another coach coming in and instantly making more of a difference not sure. Maybe short term but Silva is a young coach too he needs to be given time in my view with his best team to get a formation that works. That being said if we are still struggling come Christmas I will see your point.

The problem is though Matty injuries are part of the game, and Silva's not going to have his first 11 available throughout a whole season, so it's like saying we can only judge him when he has his first choice 11 out on the pitch.

Possibly mate, listen I just think it’s far to early to sack him. Give him time if he’s still kak then obviously it needs addressing

I've never seen what Moshiri was obsessed about so maybe I'm blinded by my dislike of the bloke. But you look at our schedule, we've been massively underperforming and that's 100% on him. "Preseason is for fitness, not results", has anyone told the team that?

So the conceding from set pieces, again, the no plan B, again, the throwing every attacker on the bench when going down...

None of that, at all, concerns you? None of that screams Roberto Silva to you?

Course it does mate, he needs to stop this zonal marking rubbish, and obviously what formation is what etc instead of gung po when we’re behind

What's your time frame? "If he's still kak" means how long?

Not trying to be difficult, I think he's a sub par manager. But if the club underachieves yet again in probably the BEST possible season to break in to not only the top 6 but the actual top 4, I'm sorry, I don't have patience for crap results to the easiest start to the station I've ever seen to have.

I don’t know I mean I don’t agree with doing it a few games in, but again it will depend on we’re we are and how we are before the board looks at it

I agree mate that we shouldn't be pulling the trigger just yet. I said it the other day though, I would review Silva again at Christmas, if he's turned it around by then he gets the rest of the season, we then decide if he's the right man too take us forward, at this moment in time though Silva looks tactically inept, and clueless when we're chasing games, so I can understand why some lads want him volleyed out now.

I can't remember the last season we started well, our new players come in late and our pre-seasons are crap we don't play high quality opposition, so it usually takes us a few months to get going. I don't have strong feelings on Silva I think he's a decent coach and goes on streaks of good and bad form. But it strikes me he needs a strong team to play the way he wants which is to press, squeeze up in a high line and play with a fast transition, so when teams sit back against us we struggle to break them down. Hence why we excelled against bigger teams at home last season as they come onto us. We now miss pace and drive in defence and midfield which makes playing his system difficult. That coupled with players who are mostly gutless its not a good mix. There seems to be little consistency either way with Silva's teams. Also his substitutions are poor and his tactics are stale. That being said I'd like to give him a bit more time because to me chopping and changing often doesn't improve things especially when you are trying to rebuild an entire squad and we are still missing players in the team and squad. But its true he doesn't help himself and he can be very dour and uninspiring and you wonder how hard he is on the players when they make mistakes. Not many fans have a connection with him as our manager which means he is always a few losses away from pressure.
