Bring back the good old fashioned 2 x Full Backs who got a nose bleed if they crossed the half way line, A BIG centre half, Right and left halves, Right and left wingers, right and left insider wingers and a grock to stand on the penalty spot to "put himself about" . That will show them.

2-3-5 that was always my lineup for Subutteo!! :p I found it very successful.

Remember when the match day programme printed the 2-3-5 line up exactly like that, before it became just a list of names?

Ah...those were the days. Before I was born although I have a large collection of pre 1966 ( Ramsey's wingless wonders) programmes that do just that.

Why do we get rid of the better short term manager with the better record at the club and beyond and stick with a fella with a worse record here and beyond?
Because why would a club like us who is chasing top 6 want to be managed by one of the most negative minded managers in world football.
Kean would take one look at Big Sam and laugh in his face.

How does a negative minded manager have a better record than most `positive' ones, and when has that so called negative manager ever been given
a top 6/7 wage bill/transfer budget to be `positive' with for a long term.

m8 are you actually trying to make a case for Fat Sam as manager? He's a relegation firefighter.
He plays for draws/wins from a corner/freekick to keep teams safe, He'll never be anything more than that.
His style will not suffice in Europe or getting into the top 6, He's an utter gutter manager who is very good at keep teams out of the shi with his boring negative football.

I wouldnt have him back right now but he is a better manger than Silva in any circumstances end of.

I ask again. When was he ever given the time/backing/wage bill Silva has?

Th answer is never, so why claim he is a one trick pony when he has never had the chance.
so he hasn't had previous jobs in the PL? So he hasn't got a reputation for his boring negative football?
If you want him back right now you want this club to go nowhere then cause he's a nothing manager.

What, dire negative football and spending £45 million on Walcott and Tosun wasn't enough for you?

He came in when we were in freefall. Getting beaten by big numbers away from home and in bottom half of league.

We then played negative but effective football to get us out of the situation. We wasted 45mill.

Silva has come in, been given about 15 months so far and untold spending in the market, 6/7th biggest wage bill in league.
Guess what, we are playing dire and less effective football than under Fat Sam.
He has had time, money, stability etc etc

You can imagine things have havnt happened if you want to but its a bit silly to pretend we have moved forward - we clearly havnt.

You're under the illusion I want Silva, I don't I think he's blew it big time with these games but to even consider Fat Sam would be a better option is a massive l o l.
I'd take Silva every time over him. Sam is a garbage manager who's only job is to pull teams away from relegation end of story.

Mate Allardyce had to easy task of saving us from a relegation scrap and out of the bottom of the table into 8th in half a season.

Silva had the pressure of a whole season to maintain that 8th finish. You have to give credit where it's due for achieving that. Matty knows the score Silva deserves infinitely more time than that fat slop Allardyce got. You're fighting a losing battle.
No he didn't. We were tied for 12th, 2 points out of 9th when he took over. He had no Europa to deal with, he had a cakewalk schedule - played few top 6 sides, got a bunch of guys back from injury, got to spend ANOTHER 50M in January, and still gained 3 points on the field to finish 8th. Not too mention he got lucky as heck on quite a few results because the team was probably playing worse than they did before. So actually, he had quite an EASY task all things considered.
