Silva must go

so he hasn't had previous jobs in the PL? So he hasn't got a reputation for his boring negative football?
If you want him back right now you want this club to go nowhere then cause he's a nothing manager.

I bet Silva can't drink a pint of wine whilst abusing his position in front of a journalist, though.

How will Gomes and Gbamin solve us having the worst set piece defensive record in the league and our inability to score goals / constant tactic of crossing into the box?

Oppositions will get in set peice positions far less. Gomes and Gbamin are offensively deployed players who can pass...

They'll do as they are told by the manager which is "get it out wide and cross cross cross" mate.

Neither will solve our defensive issues from set pieces either - Silva has the worst record of this at Hull, Watford and Everton- that tells you its the manager not the players.

With a pairing of Morgan and Fabian it's always going to happen, hence the purchases of Gomes and Gbamin.

I agree we'll be a better team having them in the side - however those thinking this is the reason why we are currently gash and will solve the fundamental problems in this side are going to be in for disappointment.

Teams get injuries - its hardly like we have 6 first teamers out.

With Gomes out we have nothing to pivot directly forward, we have noone else. Davies failed to take a chance in cup last week. So Siva has gone for form instead of balance.

Number of Injuries depends on the positions.

I've always wonder if Koeman might of turned it around, I'm not sure he would, just like Silva wont turn around the backward step we have taken.

Oh no he would not. Some of the line ups he was putting out and seeing the players go out on the pitch literally not having a clue what they were supposed to do confirmed that he was finished.

You are never more than two games from a crisis at Everton and those two games just happened to be Bournemouth and Sheffield United.

If you can't get your players to believe when they could have gone second/third against mediocre opposition then simply you are not up to the job. I had my doubts last season but this season has tipped the scales and they have somersaulted sideways off the unit to the floor of despair. I don't want him sacked this season, hopefully he can go on a little purple patch again that will at least set us on track for next season but he should not be manager when that starts. We can't be fooled into thinking the corner has turned again with him.

We need to find a proven manager who stays in a job for more than 5 seconds to eliminate at least those niggling doubts. As once the fans turn it is bloody hard to get back.

That more or less matches my sentiment, I'd rather we weren't in a position where a sacking becomes unavoidable and that things stabilise over the next few weeks and months. A decision under less than ideal circumstances invaribly leads to a bad outcome, rather than being done with the benefit of time and consideration.

I do think though that the groundswell has shifted against him and this actually tends to be noticed. He is now in a battle to save his job.

It all depends though on a manager with a significantly better CV being available, as there isn't much point sacking him and pinning the tail on another metaphorical donkey. The only way they would make a change other than that would be in a panic reaction to potential relegation. And it's only October.

There were poor performances and results before those two games. In a perverse way one could say the two games you mention were the icing on the cake!
