I don’t get your logic though, you don’t want a Europa place because it would affect our league form, then what are we playing in the league for? Because we have zero chance of the title, and a very, very small chance of a CL place.
Look at the thread title, its embarrassing we have won nothing for 25 years, getting a Europa place wont end that barren run, it would be as meaningless to us as the last time we did it.

26 years is a long time for a club like Everton not to win something like. As a club we haven't been a major player, since around 1987/1988. Still though things could be worse. We could be Sheffield Wednesday, and have gone 21 years without playing in the premiership. We are a stable consistent top half of the premiership table club. Im not saying im happy with that, but im mindful that things could be hell of a lot worse. As long as the Don Carlo is given proper backing by the board, then he will land us a trophy.

We haven't finished above Arsenal for 33 years, 1987/88 to be precise.Shocking that considering we have both a similar history in seasons played in the top division.

Since our 1995 FA Cup win we have had a lot of cup exits to lower league clubs.

1995/1996 League Cup exit to Millwall. FA Cup exit to Port Vale.

1996/1997 League Cup exit to York City. FA Cup exit to Bradford city.

1998/1999 League Cup exit to Sunderland, who were then a championship team.

1999/2000 League Cup exit to Oxford United.

2000/2001 League Cup exit to Bristol Rovers. The Tranmere Rovers debacle in the FA Cup.

2001/2002 League Cup exit to Crystal Palace.

2002/2003 FA Cup exit to Shrewsbury Town.

2007/2008 FA Cup exit to Oldham Athletic.

2010/2011 League Cup exit to Brentford. FA Cup exit to Reading.

2012/2013 League Cup exit to Leeds.

2016/2017 League Cup exit to Norwich.

2018/2019 FA Cup exit to Millwall.

So that's 16 defeats in cup competitions to lower league clubs. I'd say we are the only historically big club, to have such a dismal record. 9 of those defeats have been in the league cup. That competition in particular seems to have been treated with disdain by this club.
