Singapore Airlines Turbulence Problem

Great airline SA, best I've flown with. Obviously neither airline nor plane or pilot at error for what happened. Just keep your seatbelt on.

Yes, keep your seat belt on... just so long as you are sat down. But, there are good reasons why you are not sat down.

The injured passengers could have been in the crapper when turbulence hit? Or queuing for the crapper? Or waiting for the trolleys to pass before leaving their seats... Or simply just stretching their legs. All more likely on a long haul flight which London to Singapore is.

Imagine being in the crapper probs end up with a sore head and coverd in poo

I travelled to New Zealand earlier this year and went with Singapore Airlines. Thought I recognised the flight number when I read it in the news. On ours they also had to delay the meal service because of turbulence for an hour thankfully nowhere near as bad as this sounds very traumatic.

While it wasn't this severe, I flew into Vienna once through some major turbulence, and it was pretty nauseating and very, very unsettling.

On our final descent, I remember at one point looking out the window (obviously sideways looking) and saw the runway running almost perpendicular to the plane.

"Shouldn't that be in front of us?" went through my mind, I'm not ashamed to say I did a few Hail Marys at that point.

Had a similar problem coming into Vienna. The plane just dropped and was lifted off the seat for what seemed an age (probably a couple of seconds in reality). I remember involuntarily swearing and the pilot comes on the intercom to say he's aborting the landing and going around. Whatever it was cleared up pretty quickly as he did carry on descending and made the landing.

Had a terrible experience coming back from Mexico a couple of days after Katrina hit New Orleans...affected me ever since.

My old man worked at British aerospace for years building wings for jumbo's and even his reassurances haven't worked.
I worked there at British Aerospace for a couple of years!! It's amazing the sheer scale of the wings as they're being built in the factory. Then you see the size of the plane they send them on to attach to the main body of the plane down in France....amazing.

777 is a massive, beautiful airplane, queen of the skies, unlike 777 Partners who are massive dangers
