It's 43%, very pale and has an mild Iodine hint.

I'm going to Scotland in September and we want to visit a distillery. We will be based on the Moray Coast about 10 miles from Elgin. Any suggestions would be welcome.Thanks.

Where exactly are you staying - I stay on the Moray Coast , 15 mikes from Elgin. Not all distilleries are doing tours yet , do best to check. The “big names” , Glenfiddich, MaCAllan, Glenlivet are all excellent , Gkenfiddich probably best ,MaCallan is ultra modern and new. If you’re in a family group the smaller ones like Glen Grant (Rothes) , Strathisla ( (Keith) are very good. Speyside Cooperage , not far from Dufftown and Rothes is worth a visit. Rothes is probably closest to you with about 7 distilleries, not all with Visitors centres . Post again nearer the time and I’ll try and update you on what’s open.

Ah Portgordon, just down the road from me , I’m in Buckie, I go through regularly on my runs from home, lovely wee place right on the Speyside Way and a short walk down the coast is a colony of seals. Cullen beach is just a magical place. Enjoy !

My Father‘s Day offering ,2 x200ml Kilchoman - Machir Bay and Sanaig. I must admit I went away from the Islay malts a few years ago , Ardbeg remains my favourite, but I’ll enjoy trying these and a full bottle would have been too much.
