Sir Landon Of Donovan

Donovan was a Moyes signing,I doubt that he will be a Martinez signing.
New manager, new targets..just ask Leroy Fer.

On a side issue,I wonder how highly Moyes rated Fer as he is scouring Europe for a midfielder and last January Fer was supposed to be a player with huge potential ...and where was his renowned transfer acumen and tightness regarding spending money if we were prepared to pay twice what he was eventually sold for.

Fer's price was always going to be lower this summer. Not the extorted jan window, entering his last year, and the injury that showed up at our medical would have affected his price.

Was going to sign a 3 year deal but found out that he won't be able to get online muck from next year and pulled out. Would have been a straight swap with Anicebe too.

He has looked great in the Gold Cup. Yes, I know the competition has been poor, but I know what a top shelf Donovan looks like against these teams, and he looks it now. We will see more in the next two games (Hondoras, than probably Mexico).

I can totally see him with us after January as a tune up to head into WC 14. Whether this is on a free or a loan from MLS (after he resigns there), who knows.

We don't need him.

Yes we do!!

Anyone who wouldn't want Donovan for free in January is mad. He's 10 x better than Guaye and Naismith. A perfect mid season boost for the squad. Mind you if we shipped guaye and Naismith out this summer I'd offer 500K for him to have him from season start.

He's also better than Osman, and based on last year, I would argue he's better than Pienaar as well.

A very good player. Clever, and his assist ratio was top draw. If he is still anywhere near that level, then he would well benefit us. He's gone mad though hasn't he? Don't think he'd be up for coming back to Merseyside for a third time.
