EDIT: That is not meant as anything but informative. Since when you said "the americans" I didn't know if you meant the author. Roger Bennett wrote in the 2010 World Cup for ESPN a very humorous article about the self-loathing of the Brits, and said no one else could compare.

I think this is a great post.

People seem to forget that the MLS is basically still brand new.

It's still going to take years for it to get close, but it is getting better all the time.

I think when it does, the USA will be in the hunt for World Cups from that point on

I truly hope it's in my lifetime. I'm 37. I think I may just miss it.

Regardless, watching the growth of the league from when I first went in 1999 to now has been spectacular.
