great advice so far guys.

Seriously though, we cancelled the direct debit yesterday and they have still taken the money before they were meant to. Is it worth even ringing sky up or would that be a waste of time?

Can the bank refund the money through what @Sapie88 said without question?

I asked for the viewing card number mate?

Put simply: they have broke the law.

Ring them up and they will realise quickly what they've done. If they try and funny business then threaten them with a lawyer.

If they have any sense they will compensate you too as if you went legal with this it would be embarrassing for them.

So the money cannot leave my account untill the day they agreed? considering the bank holiday was more than 2 days ago so they cant use that as an excuse

The bank will just tell you to contact Sky mate.

This worked for me a couple of months ago when they did the same trick, although it became rather heated, I kept my head and told them who my brief was and that they should tell Rupert i'm coming for him. I got two weeks free and a ticket for Alton Towers.

When did you give Sky notice that you wished to terminate?

As they have a 31 day cancellation period.

i havent cancelled the account, i cancelled the direct debit

Does cancelling the direct debit breach your contract with them ?

it doesnt it just means i have to re set the detials up when i do make the payment, probably on friday.

Its not a case of avoiding paying them, had issues with money that should be resolved friday (bank holiday issues), but not having any money now is a little bit of an issue as the money should not have been taken

Lost count of the amount of times I've tried to do you a favour and you treat me like a knobhead mate.

I hope your Sky dish falls on you when you leave the house
haha still waititng to hear back from all the other fellas you know

what could a guy do with my viewing card number?

see i know if i ring sky they will just try and give me the run around about the money as the bill is due, depsite the money being taken early.

Hell even double checked the bill and its there is big black letters 3 september

Yes it's a legal contract. And they're broke it so tell them.

Also contact your bank as you've cancelled the direct debit and they have broke the law too by allowing the payment.

There's good compensation in this if you stick to your guns. Make the calls now as it shows you're right onto it. Keep a cool head.

What issues mate ? You seem to be asking a lot of questions here but not helping us help you by filling in the blanks.
