Sleep (how many hours do you need ? )

When I was younger & much much fitter ( in me footie days ) I could sleep for England , 10 hrs no problem.

Nowadays struggling to do 5 or 6.

Shift patterns don't help tbh.

A gallon of Guinness & a few little un's gets me a fair old kip tho.
 

So, been up since 6 this morning, had a busy day and driven about 250 miles today. Went for a few pints earlier and now back home….. bed shortly and hoping for a solid 10 hours … will report back when I get up
 
I'd kill for just five hours solid sleep. I only get short bursts of sleep, say two hours at the most. Being retired, it doesn't seem to matter much but it's all a bit random.
 

11 while 7 at least every day. If I go to bed at 10 I feel a million dollars but 11 is the cut off.
 
I definitely need 7 hours plus or just don’t feel great, one thing I’ve learned is that it’s all about quality sleep more than quantities. Picking a book up for 20 mins before I nod off helps and I strangely got told to eat a banana (tryptophan helps sleep) before bed when I wasn’t sleeping well over lockdown. Works a treat for me and have done so ever since ..
