Protected species in the UK In the United Kingdom the slow worm has been granted protected status, alongside all other native British reptile species. The slow worm has been decreasing in numbers, and under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 it is illegal to intentionally kill, injure, sell or advertise to sell them.[4][5] It is not native to Ireland but in recent years specimens have been seen especially in the Burren region of County Clare.
We get loads of em the cats love them.

ANOTHER LITTLE SWINE.

I was ready this time. Knew exactly what to do.

So I mowed the little shiny sh*t.

I didnt really. I picked it up and put him in the bushes. Fascinating little things them. They look a lot like snakes though. A LOT.

Never seen one, can they be kept as pets.

Take a pic indicating size and girth please in relation to your hand please.

I've put him safely away now mate.

But the one I saw mrs Ijjy thought was a baby. They're actually quite cool.

About 20CM long and about 1.5CM wide. Copper colour with a black go faster stripe up him.

I beleive they can be kept as pets yes.
