Just reading that Southampton forum linked earlier in the thread, can't blame their fans for thinking they are better based on the last two seasons as we've been utter tosh but what I take offence to is one of their morons using Hillsborough in a not so subtle way to have a dig at us by claiming we 'borrow' minute silences and grief from those 'loveable' neighbours of ours

So if we finish higher than them in the next two seasons (will they then think we are bigger than them?).

Also, in the last 26 seasons, they have only played at the top level for 19 of them. Out of the 19 they have finished 7 times higher than us (which includes the last two seasons).

In there 131 years of existence they have finished once as runners up in Division One as it was called then. They have not won any Division One Titles. How deluded are these people?

Hi Everton fans :)

Koeman has done brilliantly for us, kicking on after the "meltdown" of Poch, Lallana, Lovren, Shaw and Lambert leaving and improving on our league position twice in a row.

With regards to how much of the transfer acumen displayed was down to Koeman personally or our fabled black box, I don't know but suspect that we had a list of players identified to play a certain system or style that was preferred and he then got final say (if you do get him I'd expect you to get Ziyech in).

There are however a couple of caveats to the brilliant performances under Koeman. Firstly, we've been absolutely bloody dire for a month and a bit over Christmas both seasons and the wheels have come off a bit until he shook things up and it got back on track (we are 2nd in the league for 2016 after Leicester which shows how bad we were at the tail end of 2015 that we ended up 6th).

Secondly there is a noted lack of youth team products making debuts - a very common theme under Pochettino at both Saints and Spurs and a key part of Saints' business strategy as (has been pointed out) our rich owner inherited the club and is now looking at it as a self sufficient investment rather than a fun money pit.

I'm in Japan so am expecting to wake up tomorrow to news that you lot have signed him so if that's the case congrats and we'll have Emery! :p

Ps we're definitely a bigger club - I mean, how many Johnstone's Paint Trophies have you won? None? Yeah that's what I thought...

There will always be the bigger club debate when a player/manager is linked to another club outside the Sky darlings. We have seen it with Swansea and Stoke fans to name just two, now Southampton are in on it. Two seasons above us does not mean they are a bigger club than us but does it really matter? I would consider Villa to be bigger than them and even Newcastle, yet Koeman wouldn't go near either at the moment.

If Koeman is to come here it will be that we can increase his wage substantially and he feels we have the better project moving forward to increase his stock.
