In the absence of Jags, Pienaar, Distin - the most experienced outfield (for the club) players in the team - and with loads of youngsters on the bench and the pitch (Stones, Barkley, Deli, Browning, Ledson) we probably should have tried to compensate for that by playing Ossie and Hibbo today. With Coleman in midfield perhaps, dunno, but definitely a case for a wise head like Ossie, who definitely gives a toss..

I know it was a poor performance but the CL would have been a bonus this year even if we had it in our hands we all knew the hard fixture list we had running towards the end of the season. All in all its been a great year and lets try and secure 5th. I cant wait to see what lies ahead after this transitional season.

What was disappointing was that we never seemed to believe in ourselves straight after that first goal went in. Ok, it's not easy conceding in the first minute like that, not to mention a second own goal minutes later. But we've turned it around so many times this season, or at least gave it a very good go in most matches when things went against us, that to give it up like that in such a massive game for our 4th place aspirations really hurt.

Especially after spending a lot of money on the day, only to be mocked by those [Poor language removed] Southampton bells for 90 minutes ffs. Hope Pompey rise through the leagues and smash these again at some point.

Hi saints fan in peace, been on here last couple of seasons and always keen to see opposition fans view on the match. Good luck in last couple if games. Have to say you were particularly poor today and happy with the points you gave us.

Think you deserved the win mate

Your lot didn't have to break out of second gear

I'm literally only persisting with the previews in the hope we will make Europe. Imagine how much poor stereotyping I can do once we start drawing the war criminal harbouring, daughter pimping communist bells of Eastern Europe?

As long as you don't forget to update us about the missing plane mate.... And Feel free to throw in conspiracy theories relating to daughter pimping communist bells of Eastern Europe.

Well deserved win for you, were perhaps a touch unlucky when you were up at Goodison as well.

Hope you can keep hold of your manager/youngsters and challenge higher next season as enjoyed watching your team play this year.

Ps why did your manager completely give up on the FA cup?

Cheers if you believe the press we will be losing our entire squad, youth team, manager and coaching and back room staff, it would be great to build on this season, I guess wait and see. Mutual respect though as Everton are a model club in a lot of ways. All best

True but they did have a hand ball shout vs Alcaraz. Don't think it was but it fell in the "often seen them given" category. Think that and another couple of calls were what got Lallana all riled up which led to Clattenberg then accusing him of changing since he'd played for england.

Tbh Legs, I thought that Alcaraz's WAS a handball. Anyway, all water under the bridge now. But I do get the feeling that Soton have a particularly competitive edge when they play us. Imo, I think they see us as the benchmark 'best of the rest' and they want that. Pochettino v RM is a battle within a battle. Over there respective future careers, I think we will see a LOT of rivalry (not friendly either)

Know the feeling mate, press have Martinez packing his bags for Arsenal/Barca. Apparently the half of our squad that is not made of loanees are going to be sold for ridiculous sums including lifelong toffee Barkley to Liverpool.
Hope we get more pts off you next season and please take some off United for us.
