9 appearances. 0 goals.

He was turd.

And this is worse than Kone or Traore how, exactly? At least Jelavic would be available for selection. Maybe some time on the bench would have seen him bust a gut when he came on?

It was great that we made a tidy profit on Jelavic, but you can't argue that we completely failed to replace him and Cheebs. Kone and Traore have been utter disasters.

Nobody said it was.

it was a poor performance yesterday, but if were being honest our last few away performances have been poor , sunderland and fulham we were lucky, and thats the difference, yesterday we gifted southampton with both goals , southampton were no great shakes and i cant say howard was over worked, yes they had a lot of possession but so did man utd at goodison, the difference is we had mirallas and not duelofeu on the counter attack, we had so many similar positions to last week and they were wasted and top and bottom of it if the referee had done his job and we had done ours defensively we would probably all be saying it wasnt a bad away performance vs a decent side and got the 3 points, its a fine line between a decent performance and a bad performance.

Our thin squad have been exposed yesterday - we simply don't have the fire power off the bench to make a big impact and turn games around.
Our main weakness on the pitch remains the lack of a creative nr 10 feeding the striker(s)and penetrating defences -
Our second weakness is the lack of a second striker to change tactics if necessary -
Our cornertaking and set pieces needs to improve drastically - when last have we scored from a corner?
I get very nervous when we are defending corners however - the reason for both must be the lack of a good header of the ball or two -Distin ,Stones and Jagielka just do not score enough -we have 2 short wing backs to add to that.
Everton have had a wonderfull season if you look at what Martinez had to work with compared to the other top 7 teams - but we need to strengthen our squad if we want to become title contenders.

...agree with all the sentiments about being thin on the ground up-front. Incredible to think we have done so well with only one recognised Centre Forward available all season. Beyond that I don't think we are too badly off, including in the Centre Back department.

One point I would make is about the attitude of loanees, and in particular Lukaku and Deulofeu. I just wonder if they are at a stage in this season when their minds are more on what they'll be doing and where they will be come August.

.....Kone and Traore have been disasters because of injuries. I suppose there's an argument that Traore was high risk because he came with a dodgy hammy, but I don't think Jelavic was ever in RMs plans and the offer for him was too good to turn down.
