Esteemed GOT colleague - @Jimmy Grimble - initially poo-poohed Ben Brereton Díaz’s intell but subsequently became a subscriber to its authenticity and accuracy, namely: our lion hearts in Blue are avid readers of GOT. We posters must exercise care and sensitivity in what we write about our brave, courageous lads and their never say die attitude and pride when they pull on the mighty Everton shirt. The alternative is they read uncomplimentary posts about themselves...and down tools.
I fear, this might be where we are at right now.
So, try to be positive lads and post ‘nice’ stuff about our lion hearts. They are a fabulous team who play scintillating football .
When Everton’s game is televised, I don’t waste any time in turning on the telly.

I missed the first 15 searching for a feed and missed the last 15 when the feed from my new friend and old colleague @Sid James froze. During both down periods I was tortured by the official audio coverage. So much went wrong today in both football and technology. Tech I can fix though...
I met Jimmy the Kitman a couple of weeks ago and he said the players of today lack the passion of those of yesteryear, how prophetic - this was the ultimate gutless performance, try a few flicks, if the work great, if not, oh well. Fifty-fifty balls - thats ok... opposition midfielders strolling through the middle - i know we really should do better.
Hold up!! - Southampton are crap! We just lost easily to one of the worst teams in the division who had a full 120 mins on Thursday!!
Its hard to find an MotM. Maybe this is a knee jerk but my favorite players Gylfi and Gomes need dropping!!! they were both awful - its no wonder we lost we have no midfield. Teams have figured out that we only score from assists by wingers or full backs pushed up high. Gylfi was a passenger and Gomes had a mare, Gana is just not THAT good. Its time to give others a chance at least from the bench - where's McCarthy and Beni?

Yep, you are sadly spot on.
The wastefulness of the past 3 or 4 years has put this club back in the dark ages.

The fact the worst team possible sit top, whilst Everton try and find a way of getting the obscene wages of Bolasie, Sandro, Niasse, Schniederlin etc, off the books, makes soccer vomit worthy.

maybe we expect so much because we paid so much for them but maybe the truth is that they came from bog standard clubs and are bog standard players

There's no fight mate, no heart, no wanting it more than the other team. Southampton embarrassed us today, and while the score line makes it look close, it was far from close, it was a very comfortable and thoroughly deserved win for Southampton, a team who before today had only won once at home.
