Space and stuff

As I grow older I begin to wonder what the attraction of living on Mars would be if there are 1 million other humans there too.
That's a very good point, Chris.

As much as space exploration is of great interest to me, I would never trade our beautiful planet for the red one or another one unless it look exactly like ours (and had no humans) lol. We are just so fortunate to be living in this paradise, too bad humans have done nothing but exploit it without mercy.

It is a beautiful world .... and some of the people, many in fact, are just lovely. Sadly what seems to be the majority aren't worth a second thought.

Indeed, I agree with all of your statements. I do get so angry with humanity but there are a lot of lovely people in our world. During these Covid times I have gained a new appreciation when it comes to human interaction.

Can I just take the opportunity to remind you nerds to read the Mars trilogy:

Its 'kin amazing. And watch The Expanse while you're at it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just ordered mine, going camping next week and needed a good book to read. As much as I wanted to order the paper copy, I got the kindle version as it is probably better for the planet :)

That's a great picture, like all your photos. Did you connect your telescope to your camera?
No, thats taken with a 70-300mm lens. I’m waiting for a very still night (no breeze) to try get a star trail photo, some of them are amazing but conditions have to be just right.
Something like this off Google. You point your camera, leave on for probably an hour or so and as the Earth rotates you capture star trails. If I get one half as good as this I’ll be delighted

Wow, didn't realize a camera len could have that much of zooming power. I'm ignorant when it comes to cameras.

This pic is great too but I imagine the one of start trails must be amazing. Can't wait to see it :)

Have to say I differ- covid, via their statements in social media, opened my eyes to how badly educated, insincere and utterly selfish many humans are - from our prime minister downwards. I found my self being revolted by their principles.

You are right about that, during this pandemic time the worst has come out of some people but I have also read stories about the compassion other humans have shown towards less fortunate people during this time. Maybe what I meant to say was that during these times I have realized the importance of human connections.

Its certainly brought the best from some and the very worst from others.

One of my heros is Ernest Shackleton. When he was forced to abandon Endurance after being captive and subsequently crushed by ice in Antarctica he stood vulnerable on the ice and quoted Tennyson to his crew; "for sudden the worst makes best the brave."

Wonderful words.

Those are indeed wonderful words. I'm going to write it down on my dairy, thanks for sharing them.
