Is the film worth a watch or is it complete dross like Gravity?

Pretty amazing how bright Venus and Jupiter have been recently, down here Jupiter has been visible before the sun has even gone down!

Read somewhere that Jupiter and Venus are going to move closer and closer together and eventually cross over each other in the sky on the last day of this month. Worth a look to track their progress.

Please don't ever compare Interstellar to Gravity again. Interstellar had solid science, Gravity did not, in fact it got everything wrong.

That was my point, I watched Gravity and it was terrible but didn't watch Interstellar in case it was similar. Will have to give it a watch.

You'll enjoy it, though towards the end it's a bit cheesy. Not ending of gravity levels of cheese but cheese enough to send the viewer home happy.

Ps many apologies for jumping down your throat a bit there chap .

It's quite alrite old chum, we're both obviously very similar in that trying to present something as plausible without being based on anything factual does our heads in ;)

TB, it is Venus that is visible before the sun has gone down. After the sun and the moon, Venus is the brightest object in the sky.

not had much luck spotting it since last week, is friday supposed to be clear ? I'm working the arena so should have good views of big sky by the river until late

I think it was Jupiter I could see, it was higher in the sky than Venus normally is and there was cloud cover on the horizon. Could be wrong like.

You can see both, in fact i am looking at them both out my window right now. Venus is by far the brighter of the 2, but Jupiter is visible before sunset

I suspect that visibility is much better down under.

You might be correct that both are visible in the UK before sunset but if you can see something that is extremely bright it will be Venus. Jupiter is like a 20 watt bulb to Venus's 250 watts.

I haven't seen Jupiter before 10pm but Venus is usually visible about 9.10 pm.
