I was kind of surprised that there were photos of Venus' surface out there from the Russian probes in the late 70s - didn't know they managed to send anything back. Think the spacecraft lasted about 10 minutes before they lost communication.

good find. I love stuff about the big E and his thought experiments, he had a truly incredible mind. It definitely falls into the 'space' never mind the 'and stuff', without his relativity calculations, all space rocket timings would be out.
