It's not. Considering that space is nearly infinite - how much of the total % of materials do you think would be planets? To add to that - nearly all planets have both anyway...

They've just written really clever code to tell a robot what to drill into in it own. They've then blasted it across space to Mars. Some little piece of tin the size of a small child with a straw for an antenna picked it up figured out what it was talking about and updated itself.
I don't care what other intelligent life is out ther, that is pure awesome.
