I don't know if anybody has been paying attention, but a lot interesting stuff relating to black holes has been happening lately...

For some reason, I'm both obsessed and freaked out by them!

A few news outlets picking this up at the moment.

A professor of Entomology, Dr. Emeritus Romoser (great name btw) of the University of Ohio is claiming that footage and stills from the various Mars rover missions show not only fossilised insects but live insect like organisms as well.

While there doesn’t seem to be anything official from NASA or any other scientists in the way of verification, it is worth noting that this guy is very well respected and experienced in his field.

Very interesting stuff and could be a massive discovery if verified!

Emeritus is an honorary title given for distinguished work.

Went to "A night with the stars" at the Royal Observatory a week last Friday. Excellent night and the astronomers and volunteers were fantastic and infectiously enthusiatic. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so the squint through the Great Equatorial Telescope was done by a rigging up a video of what a gander at the moon would have been like, but that didn't detract from the evening.
Also saw the transit of Mercury on the Monday from there.
Not an astronomer, but it really is a brilliant place to visit.

Find it funny that Brian Cox tells us a star is 822726622x bigger than the Sun and we all just go 'yeah sound'. Could be the size of Huyton and a few thousand miles instead of a billion light years away for all we know. The uneducated, I mean. The experts could literally tell us anything and we'd believe it because there's no way of knowing they're talking bollocks.
Google Father Ted - small? or far away, all is explained.

If this happened it would be amazing to see.
Sadly dont think we’ll see it in our lifetime. Another article here from Phil Plait who is a good follow on Twitter

Would be amazing to see though.
