There is a terrific documentary on BBC 2 tonight at 9.00pm, all about the moon landings. New footage, all sorts apparently. (Probably using similar stuff that film did).

Did you watch it mate? I only caught the last 10 minutes but I'm assuming I will be bale to get it on BBC I player on catch up

I'd imagine that the heat of re entry would have killed off any bugs. Anything on the astronauts suits/kit would have been offloaded well away from the ocean. I call bullshizzle.

Only the command modules came back to earth. The service modules burned up in the atmosphere upon re-entry.

The lunar module.... The descent stages remain on the surface of the Moon. The ascent stages were discarded after it rendezvoused with the command module and was left to de-orbit and crash into the moons surface.

So the only things that could carry moon germs that came back to earth were the bags of meat that walked around on the surface.

Plus, if somehow germs or microbes got onto the command module exterior, only the heatshield would get hot enough to sanitize completely... The majority of the rest of the surface was still incredibly cold during re-entry.

That was brilliant and quite emotional as it showed people all across the world watching in utter awe. Part two is next week.

Yes mate I felt exactly the same watching it and turned round and there's my wife, daughter and son on their mobile, laptop and tablet whilst this amazing footage is showing one of the greatest moments of mankind.

At a wedding next week so I'll need to record the moon landing one
