Spain v England

I don't know mate, players can make the odd sloppy pass here and there. Ashley Cole did lately didn't he? It does happen and it's not the first time a player has given the ball away in that area. Upson did twice in the second half, the midfield dealt with it though.

Experience could come into it, I see your point. Bar that he looked solid though and as you say there's lots of time to improve.

He did, but it was a backpass so it was a bit different. Thing is tho Ashley Cole has played loads of games for England and made very, very few errors like that. Jags has come in and done one in his first game (against real opposition). Obviously you could say that it'd be the same numbers if he then went 40 something games without making a mistake, but new players are surely far more likely to make mistakes like that than experienced internationals. I think Jags is well equipped to make it, his attitude is excellent. He won't let it bother him too much other than making sure it doesn't happen again.

Fair points, lets hope he pushes on from this. I'm sure he will.

Half of this bloody thread was wasted going on about banning and nationality. FFS grow up you morons, not going to name names but if the cap fits etc etc. For everyones information I was born in Walton, so I am a scouser but I had great grandparents who were Italian so what does that make? Who thwe **** cares likewise with the other individual on here.

About the game, Spain were good but made to look better by a piss poor England. No question in my mind there goal was Jags fault, he set it up. So Villa is world class well if Jags wants to be an England regular then he has to be able to deal with the like of Villa. But adding to what has been siad, Beckham for only did one decent thing last night and that was the pass to Carlton Cole who came on too late. Villa's Oblong:lol: was anonymous. Cole at LB was awful, had SWP to thank for saving him time after time. SWP was played on the right flank but that was to make room for Beckham IMO. I do not rate Lampard, neve have done and virtually every time he plays, England are crap.

Not a good night.
