My view, How will your kids know it's a gambling company unless you tell them?

What next? don't play in the Emirates cup because it's the airline of an oppressive regime? Don't watch games against Stoke etc because they are sponsored by a betting company also?
Did they watch the grand national? Maybe even had a 50p e/w for them?

Not sure a gambling company is any worse than an alcohol brand which is one of the biggest killers in uk and if go to an A&E on a Saturday night, not the best for the NHS either.

There's too many 'do gooder' objections in the world already - if people don't like it, move on, but keep the high horse for the racing

Does anyone really pay attention to the sponsor on a shirt? I couldn't even name a handful of sponsors of the other PL teams.

We can't moan our commercial side of the game is crap and then turn our noses up just because it's a gambling company. Alcohol isn't exactly squeaky clean.

Sportpesa - no doubt a fine bunch of lads - but I think it would be irresponsible for EFC to promote gambling on match shirts. Not what I want my boys to aspire to.

What do you think?
Totally agree.
It's bad enough it's associated with, and corrupts sport, let alone advertised everywhere to tempt the gullible and desperate. It wouldn't be allowed at all if the government didn't get so much cash from it.

Not really bothered tbh. Bit 'snowflake' generation to have a problem with this?

This really.

If they end up moving their European headquarters to the waterfront so they can walk to their corporate boxes in our new stadium then it's all good. Well, it's not all good, and I'd prefer our sponsor to be a paragon of virtue with very deep pockets, but such companies are few and far between, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

We were once owned by the king of gambling who made us a giant of the game, anyone have any complaints then

Didn't apply then, there was no faux outrage then, no PC correctness and no social media/internet to give them a platform to spout &@&£. I bet the OPs kid will probably end up watching porn on the Internet before he's 14, yet he's gonna be corrupted by seeing a name of a company on a football shirt. I hope he takes these morals into everyday life, I don't think it is even possible to be so pc correct in every walk of life or else you wouldn't even be able to take him into Town. Anne summers with pics of scantily clad women in the window is down there, have to walk another way. Oh no, Willy Hill is down there, steer clear, can't walk past the pub in case he hears some swearing. Can't take him the game because of the language. Etc etc. As if we haven't more serious things to worry about in this world. Jeez

I do agree and it'd be very nice to take the moral high ground but it seems a bit hollow given the price charged for tickets, food, drinks, replica kits and the share of cash we happily take from the TV deals.

All money that comes from a market monopoly which really helps when it comes to fleecing the gullible and desperate.
