@davek now you can see why I am positively furious with Elstone et al.

He's just an errand boy. Kenwright and his two Shylocks, they are to blame. Leather face is just the bag carrier. He's there to rebuff all reasonable p.o.v. regarding a Goodison rebuild and talk gobbledegook about requiring 'uplift in value of land' and 'enablement' and other such tomfoolery.

He's a flim flam man.

Absolutely right Dave, all this talk of investment makes me want to laugh or perhaps cry. The parasites in charge are hoping some one will come along and give them a chestful of money for nothing in return while the parasites get to keep control of their train set.

I am looking at what Spurs are doing with great alarm. West Ham also. Add in Newcastle and Sunderland's larger capacity and recent renovations. Man City... and the redevelopment of the wastelands of Anfield.

Now you see my great alarm.

We have three years or we are going to go the way of Aston Villa.

Things need to start happening in this 12 month period... or we are screwed.

It's exactly what they are too: living off their hosts and sucking the life from them.

It's very appropriate and not at all an insulting pejorative...just an accurate description.

Nothing will happen within 12 years never mind 12 months

A decade from now TV revenues will so far eclipse ticket sales that having a stadium won't matter as much. In fact Spurs/West Ham/Liverpool might put themselves in a bit worse situtation when/if their stadium is built after taking all that debt.

You are forgetting that apart from £4 million TV money per year - ALL WAGE INCREASES MUST COME FROM OTHER REVENUE. (premier league rules)

If Everton do not massively increase commercial revenue - where is the money going to come from to fund improving the squad?

Everton's current directors have WOEFULLY performed in commercial revenue generation.

Now they are woefully performing on the stadium.

We are going to be in serious trouble and unable to compete without a major stadium capacity/quality upgrade !!!!

@davek

Just look Spurs have spades in the ground. West Ham are moving.

We are sitting on our arses again. Elstone out.

That is all.

Stadiums are now just giant advertising boards. You can't have enough sponsorship around a stadium.

Plaster it in historic Everton stuff and it pulls in tourists. Tickets these days have little to do with the revenue. It's all corporate balls coxs

i) they are both getting at least tens of millions off councils and other bodies in London to move
ii) both clubs are in London, where there is an idiot amount of money sloshing around anyway
iii) it may end up being the case that having one of the oldest, best atmosphere grounds in the country (and by extension Europe and the world) is going to be increasingly more likely to bring in money than having a new 45 or 50 thousand seater of the same kind that everyone else has, especially given Rook's point above about far more money coming from tv revenue
iv) investing in the squad and youth setup is a far better use of money

That is absolute and utter nonsense. It also fails to take into account the reality of the financial club licencing rules
