I agree, he was petulant but on here he's been made the equivalent of an attacking Norman Hunter.
Anyway, like others, ive given my opinion and it is a lot different to a lot of Evertonians, so to stop us going around in circles, I will leave it there.

Yeah, sounds a plan that. ;)

You are probably not aware, but I grew up, football wise, not in Liverpool, but in Bristol after we moved here mid 70s, and started following Bristol City. They had a dreadful side, christ, had loads, but somehow David Howells (?) popped up at the club, and blimey, what an under rated player he was.

Howells was a honest pro, would never get anywhere near into anyone's top 100 players but good to read that he still did he's best as he's career went "on the slide." Like I said, a good pro (and he is a nice bloke.)

Again, that's your opinions and my opinion would be that the majority view of non Everton fans would think Son is no more of a dirty player than most other players?

Stamps on players, breaks legs, pushes them over. I don't hate the guy but he is definitely a dirty player. Just like when Spurs fans were doing their utmost to defend Redknapp's challenge on Cahill.

I don't think it's going too far to state that Spurs fans actively encourage their players to try to seriously injure any opposition player. It's long established that Berbatov was hounded out because he wouldn't do it.

Cahill was on a different level of being a dirty player compared to Son.

Spurs fans encourage dirty play? Hahahahaha, first time I've heard that one!

More showed the chasm between the top flight and where ever Bristol City were playing I guess.

Clearly untrue about Cahill.

It's well known that Spurs fans do it.

No flag waver for Spurs, but that doesnt sound right.

In fact, in that infamous match against Chelsea that handed the league to Leicester, Paul Hawksbee was astonished at how they played, and said he wished they did it more often at times.

(Hawksbee is a well known Spurs fan fwiw)

So was Cahills straight red card at the world cup

1) A sliding foul from behind that deserved the straight red?
2) A petulant lunge that deserved the red card?
3) None of the above. He was unlucky to be sent off?

He's not dirty in the sense he steps on to the pitch and wants to do people in or underhandedly wants to rile someone up, but he is very petulant and almost like a child like in wanting vengeance if he feels he has had something bad happen to him.

I actually prefer the dirty players who you know who they are than the ones that can't control themselves. On most occasions I can remember what has triggered his outbursts have been very minor things.

Unlucky to be sent off by a Kopite ref

The thing that winds people up with Son was his holier than thou attitude and rubbish he came out with after he broke a fella's leg. There was no contrition, all just this contrived theatre to avoid him taking any responsibility. If he'd have just held his hands up, admitted what he did wrong and taken his medicine I think people would have had a lot more respect for him.

I mean he's probably not Normal Hunter, but I doubt Norman Hunter would have tried to make himself the real victim after snapping a players leg.

I do understand your anger/disappointment at Gomes getting injured but because it was only a trip it was correctly rescinded to a yellow card meaning that there was every right to appeal the red.

It was a tasteless things to do,just hours after the incident.

As for "correctly" rescinded, it wasn't at all correctly rescinded, he got it rescinded because he showed no contrition and went about making it all about him.

The fact is, he was out of control and reckless. The thing that differentiates yellow to red is whether it endangers an opponent. Given he broke someones leg, I find it very hard how anyone could say it's credible it wasn't dangerous.
