Looking at that it seems ridiculous we didn't get Bony on loan.

Another CB would also have been useful, but Holgate looks decent.

Still, you'd think there's enough quality there to be top 8 at Christmas. Then look to push for a European place with some quality additions.

Stronger than it was at the end of last season but some huge risks, e.g. a bad injury to Lukaku, present themselves as we were unable to do the deals for cover.

It's ok.
Still not convinced by Stekelenberg and we're really short on key positions should injuries hit.
Did some good business with who we did buy but also failed to bring in a quality striker, goalkeeper, ball playing central midfielder, 4th Center Back, playmaker. so on and so forth.
Would like to think we'll compete for Europe but it will take a relatively injury free season to the first 11 and utility players.

I think that we can push for a European place but a few injuries to key players, in particular Lukaku, and that will be very difficult.

We need more creative quality in that midfield. An awful lot is riding on Barry being able to play week in and week out for another season.

Another defender is also necessary.

On the plus side our XI is better than what it was and we have a better manager in place more suited to this club and how we want to play. Maybe we will make some signings in January, you have to hope we will be negotiating from now through to then for our targets.

Agree with that. We need to buy competition for him / his replacement in January.

Don't think we were even looking for one?? Would be great if Davies could grow in to this role.

there's one player who's season will really decide our season in this squad and that's our diamond ross

if you look at how we've been playing so far we've been heavily relying on him to drive us forward and to link up the various attackers, I think he's done admirably under the responsibility SO FAR, but he's going to have to start clicking with bolaise, rom, kev and Gerry pretty soon and pretty consistently if we're to mount a challenge at the right end of the table

I don't think he would have signed mate.

Why change City's bench for ours?

He is leaving for regular football, he would have been second fiddle to Lukaku here.

Ye, possibly. If he has gone for "guaranteed" first team football, he's going straight in fantasy team. He'll get goals for Stoke.

plus it remains to be seen how two years on the sidelines have corroded his ability. the bony of today is unlikely to be the bony of swansea

man city, man utd, chelsea, liverpool, arsenal, leicester(1st team) all deffo have better squads than us

after that we are similar or better than the rest, therefore our minimum aim should be seventh, leicester might collapse with champs league commitments...and spurs/liverpool look like they could be a bit flakey
