Unless there is a lot of transfer activity soon, I don't see any way Everton finish top half with this defense and lack of creativity. We signed the wrong Silva, needed the one from City more than the relegated one.

Tbf I saw a lot of this same cry arsing all last season and we finished 8th.

The problem with Ross is he didn't create enough to be a number 10 or tackle enough to play deeper so all he brought was moving the ball forward. While we never replaced that it would be ideal if we could do it with someone who brought something else to the team as well

More utter rubbish about Ross.

People so angry that he was not Gerrard that they just make stuff up.

For 2 seasons he was in the top 5 of creating chances in the league, and the 4 above him were top level players costing huge fee’s.

Would kill for a player like that now.

Er he was never in the top 5. I’m sorry you’ve just made that up.

He should have been though. He sat on the ball for 60% of the game. Good player, but unless he's a CB or an actual box to box midfield that can tackle and move the ball, he's not helping thus squad.

I dont think we should panic yet, we have a week to get rid of some on loan and to bring in replacements. Players wont come until the last minute, they are waiting for best offers etc, I will start panicking if we dont have a decent center back by the end of next week.

Doesn't change the fact he's a horrible little rat.

The good news is Pickford and Walcott will improve the side. The bad news is there is something seriously rotten with this set of players, either physically or mentally. I'm not a fan of changing loads of players in one window, I think that had alot to do with messing up last season that really just needed evolution to improve things. However almost everyone needs to be forked out of the club.

Somehow all the cliques, attitudes and personalities that are holding us back and seep into new signings have to go and we start again with a clean slate. Literally we could buy this whole team we played today or Atalanta for a fraction of the cost of what we are building one player at a time and least we would have a team that fight for each other.

Viva la revolution!

When you consider his England appearances, that stat gets even worse.
The only defense I'll give of him was that we never got to see him play with better players around him in his last year or two. Not sure i would've given the ball up to some of those jokers, either.

I'm wondering who, in the Premier League, is looking worse than us right now.. I think Southampton (lost 3-0 at Derby the other week) might be.. probably Cardiff, and then there's possibly Newcastle (some more rumblings about Ashley), Brighton, Huddersfield, potentially, Bournemouth and Watford (all likely to be showing more spirit than us), Burnley might be otherwise engaged with Europe...Fulham might not have enough depth, Palace are nothing special (especially if Zaha goes..) - so that's 11 teams with us (10th-20th). We're likely to be amongst that lot I'm afraid, unless they sort this lot out. Sadly they have to ship quite a few players out but the first four out the door are by no means the worst culprits.. Whilst no one is lamenting RFM, Davy, Robles and Rooney too much I bet they would have preferred it to be four wasters like Mirallas, Besic, Sandro, Schneiderlin.. for example. or some way past their best players. If this doesn't pick up you'll see the likes of Gueye out the door (just as he left Villa's sunken ship).

We look pretty ropey as we are. No mistake.

Ever the optimist/fool, (delete at will), lets see who is actually added in the next week or so. The holes in the squad are so obvious, even to me.

I'd love to have Ross back but he chose to leave.

He also was not a complete player when he was here. Something was missing. Maybe it was just a bit of luck but even with the stats you wouldn't say he was as good as Eriksen Silva De Bruyne etc.
