does that mean the whole star trek history has changed?

Not a trekkie. Star Wars was always better plus there have been much better sci-fi series on TV such as X-Files and Battlestar Galactica. That being said the Star Trek movies have always been decent.

This is the best of the Star Trek movies. Well casted and acted (except for Uhara who was annoying).

Its like of like an alternate reality Star Trek thanks to Time travel so that they could keep the names of the old characters w/o being affected of having to be hamstrung by prior events when writing new movies. Now Klingons don't have the be the bad guys in the future movies either.
