Abrahms made Star Trek for Star Wars fans. He admitted that himself, self confessed Star Wars fans including me absolutely loved and I absolutely believe this will be the biggest selling film, Blu Ray franchise release of all time.

I agree about the new ones, but there was a fair amount of criticism from the hardcore fans of the old Star Trek. I love both franchises, and personally felt that Trek needed freshening up in a bad way - but I also understand that for a lot of people the two franchises are attractive for different reasons. Star Trek has always been much more "science fiction" and Star Wars more "space opera." So, I completely get the people who complain that he essentially turned Star Trek into Star Wars. At the same time, though, that's also a big reason why I think Abrams was the perfect choice to direct this film.

I suppose if someone has always hated SW, this trailer won't do anything to change their mind. But I also think there aren't very many of those people. This film is going to make zillions.
 

Two things

First of all check out red letter media on youtube for their how it should have been videos on the first two films. Their version of the story is much better!

Also theory starting to build the bad guy or bad guy in some respect will be.......luke skywalker. Nothing confirmed but apparently JJ abrahms in an interview 10 years ago thought luke should have went to the dark side. SO take that as you will

Wasn't the entire premise of Star Wars built on Luke Skywalker's total rejection of the dark side? Would be a weak plot twist to suddenly have him convert, after all the hard work to get Vader to turn to the light side.
