Star Wars - Episode VII

Rating out of ten? Better than the prequels? Were you big into Star Wars beforehand?

No spoilers, of course.

Well:
10 for the cast. They were all exceptional & balanced well together.
10 for the execution. Good pace, well directed, no Jar Jar or other pointless beings.
05 for story. Spoiler to go any further sorry.

Oh, and yes, I saw the first one as a 12 year old when it was released & enjoyed all three. Went into a downward spiral of despair at the later 3 but am overall happy with VII.

True, but with no training etc. Just started trying to use it. Same when she blocked Ren's mind reading. Making her so strong like that makes him look weak as [Poor language removed], and also retrospectively makes Luke look weaker too. Caveat: If she is some all time powerful Jedi, like Luke/Anakin, except there has been no mention of that, which if they go that route is a mistake imo

agree and rens fight with finn was a little too even seeing as rens supposed to be so powerful. Quite a few bits of the story were basically the same as the original films and reys accent doesnt quite sound right apart from that thought it was a boss film

True. I did think that the weakest part of the movie was her escaping the chair, especially as the ST resisted so well the first time.

I've stayed out of this thread for about a month now to avoid spoilers. Watched it at midnight and I loved it.

Maybe we should have a Star Wars Spoiler thread so people that have seen it can discuss freely without all the spoiler tags?

I didn't like her voice when I heard it in the trailer, but found it ok when it came to the film. Some of the other voices were annoying tho. Didn't mind that scene tbh, tho I thought the way she said it the last time, for me would have worked better a la Leia to Vader in Ep4
