Anyone with a brain could tell you signing players from. Palace Burnley Swansea released player from Southampton would be a recipe for disaster.
And people wonder why were in this mess?
Why aren’t we signing players like Spurs did raiding Leverkusen or Lyon. Or like Liverpool buying Salah from Roma!

This goes for our managers too the top players and managers are top not purely on talent but mentality too.
Buying the best of the rest means that’s what you’re competing for.
It’s why I have doubts over Silva too.

We need winners.

that money should have been spent on a left back... We had a transfer budget, so if we sign Klassen, thats 24m we cant spend elsewhere, so other areas of the squad ARE weaker because klassen exists...

As I've said above, there is no evidence that this is true. You are just assuming that we had a limit to suit your argument. The evidence against your point is the failed signing of Giroud and this January's failed search for a left-back. They didn't fail because we didn't have the money. So the evidence suggests you are wrong.

My view that our squad isnt good remains, we have too many has-beens, and too many never-gonna-be's... Our squad isnt the best outside the Top 6, its in a worrying decline and the people in charge of our player recruitment seem to be as blind to this as you are...

Don't mis-represent what I've written. I said it's as good as any squad outside the top 6, not the best outside the top 6. That's because about four or five of those squads have little to choose between them. The former suggests no gap between us and the rest; the latter assumes a gap between us and the rest. Again, a slight distinction but an important one.

And finally, again as I've said but you've ignored, assessing squads is about relativity. If you deem ours not to be good, then it's fortunate that the other non-top 6 squads are also not very good. If you think theirs are good and ours isn't, it seems strange to complain that we are getting their players when they must be so much better than ours. Our recruitment strategy has been poor given the amount of money we've spent, but that's no reason to talk down the squad's relative ability just because their form is terrible.

Whilst we were trying to sign Giroud, we were also trying to offload Niasse to Palace.... We were also trying to offload Barkley to Chelsea for a similar fee we were giving Swansea for Sigurdsson....both deals fell through late on deadline day.
All that does show Moshiri isnt just writing a blank cheque, we're still very much balancing our books....so sorry i simply cant believe that signing 4 number 10's didnt have a knockon effect to other positions, and ultimately leave us with an unbalanced squad and team...

Pay the cash and the players will come.

We probably don’t have the cash to buy top quality and have to buy quantity over quality in hope that we can sell likes of Keane and Pickford in future windows.

Fonseca is the option most probable and that’s not bad, for me. He has some good players he can bring from Shakhtar and he’ll have knowledge of Porto and Portuguese league. If Walsh does stay least Fonseca could propose quality players rather than the likes of Martina and Mangala!!

The blend of the squad is awful - terrible, the worst I've ever seen.

Pick your first XI from it and it probably looks like this

Pickford
Coleman X X X
Walcott X X

where X represents a player who doesn't really fit into the position you've picked them for, is way past their best, useless or is an untried youngster.

As I pointed out all summer we signed players with no regard to how we'd use them, the style of play we played and their age/resale value.

Complete scatter gun recuitment that has lead to a huge, bloated squad of players yet with massive gaps.

We somehow manage to have about 10 midfielders yet not one passer or dribbler, none who can play in a two man midfield and the ones who can play in a three are so similar they still need Rooney to move back so we have someone who can pass forwards.

If he doesn't see the massive problem then he needs to go. If he does see the problem he needs to go as he created it.

We spent a heavy amount on really average players.
One or two bonkers statement signings like Robinho did with City and would have showed outr intentions unfortunately that ship has sailed for now.

Yesterday Allardyce as manager and Williams as captain does not scream ambition.

As much as it’s almost laughable how bad a job this fella has done, he has put us back years and is sending us down a bad path.

Overpaying on players to make them join us, signing players not suited to us, keeping/signing players past their best is a recipe for disaster.

The more losses you make the more your hands are tied in investing further due to FFP regulations.

Look no further than Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom to see what similar inept board members and recruitment has caused.
