...thread after thread on Allardyce, yet this one slips pages down.

Walsh explained the transfer process; he and Koeman identify players but both have to agree and sign-off any incomings. Both had the power of veto and whoever most wants a player does the groundwork to secure him.

On the face of it, that sounds ok but I think the reality explains the squad inbalance. I suspect both men pursued their own agenda, there wasn’t a joined-up, integrated approach. It meant players were brought in with separate strategy in mind. The safety net should’ve been the power of veto but it appears neither had the balls to halt the others signings. The result is a mess.

Ego gets in the way of the good of the club.

Bar Moshiri and emery at Sevilla are there any successful DOF/Manager partnerships? We could be looking at the same scenario in 3 months time Brands/Foncesca. Fair to say Koeman/Walsh has to be up there with the worst partnerships ever.

..others are more knowledgable than me, but I think lots of clubs take the bulk of transfer responsibility away from Managers these days. I think I read a quote from Klopp saying he though Salah was a bit light framed for this league.
