A successful team needs the right mix but it also needs some star quality and that costs money, the issue is bringing in the right ones and there was a time when we knew how to do it (and could attract), but sadly the RS turned it into an art form in the 70's and 80's. I really don't think any team in the modern era will replicate what Leicester achieved last season, it was a one off I fear, but I guess we will find out soon enough.

Not sure it's that obvious any more though, even now some of our fans cry out for names and don't trust the club to buy the right players, rather than the most well known. Many big prem clubs seem to think just chucking money at it solves their issues, some have had a disaster doing that last few years.

Agree about Star quality, but the best way of getting that is before they become stars. (easier said than done), it's a long term approach but the better one for me. I'm sure that's the way your board view it as well with signing Walsh.
