His movement is key for him as his miss showed, He never stands still always expectiong a dropped ball and was in the right place on saturday (to sky it)

Probably his best quality, to be fair.

That said, I think he may be crowding out Lukaku upfront and that also places a question mark over how solid we're set up when attacks break down, given he usually gambles on getting in the box for a goal and leaves a big space for a counter.

He's a forward with no pace and with no real aptitude for the athletic and creative part of the game you'd expect from an advanced midfielder. I'd say he needs to continually get on the scoresheet to prove his worth.

Did he sleep with your wife or something? You seem to have a vendetta against him.

He tracked back plenty on Saturday, several times he was right around our own box defending the ball.

He missed a sitter but that's no reason to criticize his all-around game play. He looked good on the ball, made smart simple passes and the team was better off for it.

I think Lukaku and Naismith compliment each other quite well, I actually can't remember the last time both of them were on the pitch and neither of them scored.

Against West Brom it looked like Martinez wanted Lukaku and Naismith to draw defenders away from our full-back in the box, so our fullbacks could play the ball short. This created the space for Mirallas' goal and worked out quite well as a tactic. I doubt we'll do the exact same thing going forward, but it's clear Naismith is able to play his role well in Martinez's system.

Like dave said the lad is a finisher and a hard worker and that's it, for me the perfect super sub/squad player but when barkley returns he has to be dropped for Ross.

It's frightening to think in 4 games lukaku has literally had no service/through balls to him, had West Brom s defence not cocked up which led to lukaku getting the ball, he would still be without a goal. Whilst wingers do have a responsibility to bring in strikers it is the CAM's job primarily to do that which Naismith doesn't do. I've said before the opposite has happened with lukaku setting up Naismith (arsenal and chelsea goals)

Hahaha comedy gold this davek.

Unbelievable.

Blaming Naisy for Lukakus slow start to the season is laughable. The two showed some great link up play on sat which was promising. I would look at the lack of width tbh, Baines and Coleman haven't hit the heights of last season(yet) in terms of overlapping and getting the ball into the box.

Naismith is not playing CAM he has been playing as a forward, and scoring goals like a forward.

Aren't we the 2nd highest scorers in the league? I wouldn't say that anyone is failing in our attack.

If you want Naismith to score the goals why spend £28 mil on lukaku mate? Serious question? If you want both firing fine but let Naismith do it off the bench/rotating with Rom.

Who played the through ball for Lukaku's shot which was saved and fell for Naismith's sitter?
