True. Losing Felli would change the dynamic of our team for sure, but we've had great success with typical DM's like Carsley and Graveson and others in the past. I still think Rodwell can be a top DM if he can stay healthy.

Of course but I think replacing Fellaini with someone as good would be just as difficult as it would be with Baines.

Both two players are at a certain level, and of a certain rarity in terms of the diversity and quality of their skillset. Their quality and uniqueness make them valuable, and we can't afford valuable players!

Baines is different too to be fair. Having a fullback with that level of crossing accuracy is incredibly rare. No other fullback in the prem can come close to Baines in that department, be it in terms of dead ball accuracy or in play.

I think it was Aidey who suggested Moyes does not want rid of Baines. Any movement to push him out the door is down to Kenwright.

Honestly, Baines is the one irreplaceable in our lineup for my money. Even more so than Fellaini, because as good as he is, DM's are much easier to unearth than LB's.

I might be completely wrong but I was told some time ago that although the was interest from united in Baines it was nowhere near as strong as the media suggested . Although obviously that interest might have firmed up in the last month or so I'm not so sure it has but our manger certainly told people he didn't believe united had the finances available to prioritise buying a left back . However like the new TV money may have altered our position financially maybe it's provided them with huge funds but personally I'm not so sure , although that may just be hope on my behalf I suppose

He's one of those Match of the Day players. People think he's boss because he's got a Riise shot, but just like Riise he doesn't do that consistently.

Consistency is everything, and Baines statistics speak for themselves. Although admittedly he had few assists last year, but the chances created/crosses put in stats will show that that wasn't his fault, more that of our toothless attack.

Agree though both are clearly brilliant.

For me an injury free season will see Felli go on to be recognized as the most dominant midfielder in the league. He will be dictating games against everybody assuming we keep the side together.
