Steven Naismith

Absolutely gutted to see him go. Came big for us in 2014 when rom was injured and has always given his utmost to everton. If you play him up top he will score. And with his donations to the unemployed and charitable work he understood what everton was about.

I hope we have a replacement lined up

....every player has a value and I think this is why an offer has been accepted. I just hope somebody has been identified who can offer back-up to Lakaku.
To some extent I'll be sad to see him leave as he's been a reasonably good servant for the club who has contributed big performance and goals.

Nevertheless, as you rightly say every player has a value and £8m for Naismith is smashing business. We can't be turning that money down!

My concern is about a replacement who can fulfil both roles than Steven has been used during his tenure at the club: striker and wide man.

Insanely good business. Basically managing to get the fee we thought we'd turned down for good in the summer, and we got the Chelsea hat trick out of him.

Wish him all the best. Good finisher, good work rate and a top bloke. Just don't think he's the right player for us at this moment in time.

Who thinks it will take us to the very last day of the transfer window to get a replacement regardless of securing his departure early in January?

That's if we get a replacement at all of course.

I reckon no one will come in, the reason will be put down to all this take over talk, when the transfer window closes, all the take over talk will stop.

I certainly hope it doesn't, however it would be typical of Everton if it were to occur. Any other club would have a deal in place for a replacement.

One out, one in and hopefully the side in the better place. Yet we'll probably end up with a number of reasons why it didn't pan out like that.

Getting £8m for Naismith is only fantastic business if we use the money wisely to bring in a replacement. If it doesn't occur then it's a negative.

Not even bothered, the defensive situation will negate any positive of a Yarmolenko or other top attacking player coming in either way. Shame we can't send Howard and Martinez to Norwich as part of the deal.
