That's right, so if he starts next week don't bitch...yes, the manager who's benched him in every game this season.
I'll question Martinez's principles. That's right, so if he starts next week don't bitch
I like Steven Naismith a lot - he may not have the silky skills of a Mirallas but his attitude is top notch and I was delighted with and for him yesterday. I was relieved we didn't sell him to Norwich, and he rewarded us with that performance.
All that being said, I prefer him as an impact sub. If he isn't in the starting line-up next week he hasn't exactly been dropped, has he? Hes an invaluable squad member and will continue to be so. (unless Mourinho or Van Gaal want to offer £15m+ for him in January).
...yes, the manager who's benched him in every game this season.
It's a matter of giving a player a chance. I make no apologies for doing so.Tell us all again how you rate McGeady. Creases me that one.
lol...usually you and I are on the same page re Naismith but today I think you are unusually curmudgeonly : today, his slotting was top notch, as was his ball control, reading of the movement/pace of the game, and general footballing wherewithal (which equates to appreciation of space...for oneself and /or teammates).
Humble pie today mate...for me ... and you
He's got to start the next game. You can't drop a player after a performance like that.
The team that is best suited to win should always be picked, yesterday Naismith earned the right to be first name on the team sheet against the RS where he will be incredibly useful.... Having a good game against Chelsea doesn't make him more suited to playing against a packed defence like we will be for the next few games...
It's a matter of giving a player a chance. I make no apologies for doing so.
I always maintained that McGeady was a confidence player who either would click here or not. I'm sure he'll go somewhere else to a lesser team/league and have a decent final few years of his career.
He'd be a huge letdown in this league. He wants way too much time on the ball to deliver and he has a serious lack of real pace. It would be a car crash of a signing.
