I would drop lukaku next week, needs a kick in the backside... 2 games in a row where he hasn't put in the effort... naismith needs to be rewarded for yesterday's performance, start him and kone with same system as yesterday, , if it's not working change it up at half time

Lukaku had a very good game yesterday lad, control and passing was his best game for us he hasn't netted in

If it was a typical cameo from the bench, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. Adding in stoppage time though, he was near enough on the pitch for 90 minutes. I just think he deserves a chance to build on that performance.

There will be no tantrums or criticism from me if he's back on the bench, as it's just my opinion. A good result against Swansea and I wouldn't even care if big dunc started.

Fair enough mate.

My own personal opinion is that regardless of who plays well in a single game prior etc that Martinez uses his tactical brain which he definitely does have when he engages it, and keeps choosing the best team and formation for the opponent at hand. Yup that means no favourites and no one being too good to drop the bench as well

A strong managerial decision next week is what I'll look for. Back on the bench again and rely on Lukaku linking with Kone and Barkley and Deulofeu away at Swansea. We can cane them at their place. They dont sit back in home games.

I actually do agree with this, I'm not sure Swansea away is a Naismith type game, I'd line up similar to Southampton away, pace on the counter! But then again, Martinez knows a lot more than me about tactics, will be interesting to see how he plays it

I think the same as you, but I don't think there are many managers who would drop a player after scoring a hat-trick.

Incidentally, the following league game against West Brom away is one in which I'd start Naismith.

And Deulofeu has done what exactly to play himself into the team? Not knocking him because i know he hasn't had much of a chance so far, but the idea of putting his name on the team sheet before Naismith is embarrassing. We need Martinez to be professional here, he didn't change a winning side after Southampton, when some said he should, so i fully expect him to be sensible and start Naismith.

I like Steven Naismith a lot - he may not have the silky skills of a Mirallas but his attitude is top notch and I was delighted with and for him yesterday. I was relieved we didn't sell him to Norwich, and he rewarded us with that performance.

All that being said, I prefer him as an impact sub. If he isn't in the starting line-up next week he hasn't exactly been dropped, has he? Hes an invaluable squad member and will continue to be so. (unless Mourinho or Van Gaal want to offer £15m+ for him in January).

You admitted in a previous post that you are a Celtic fan, so I'm sure your opinion of former Glasgow Rangers player Steven Naismith is relatively unbiased.;)
I am not one of those fans who would be completely bias. He is as I have said a great finisher who can find space where most others can not, has a excellent workrate but is not technically brillant with the ball
