Unreal, the lad has just banged a hatrick v last seasons title winners and now warrants being benched?
I don't see what is so unreal by this. I know and you know he simply isn't very good at football. Yes he was most excellent against Chelsea but I know what has come before this. Scoring a hat-trick doesn't change my opinion on a very limited player.

Comical isn't it, the players who are on the bench are there for a few reasons. Lacking in confidence and need the pressure that comes from starting taking off them. Not fully fit, back up IE Joel, or simply there is no room in the starting 11 for them.

Naismith has played himself right into the starting 11.

Howard, Stones, Jags, Barkley, Naismith, Lukaku and Kone have pretty much played themselves into being certs. We only have a few spot in the team that are up for grabs at the mo.

Guess you want Mirallas or Deulofeu? Neither of them have yet to do anything this season to warrant a place in the team. Naismith deserves it and Naismith will get it, and rightly so.

Coleman and Galloway are certain starters unless there's an injury to Coleman and to be honest I think Barry and McCarthy have played themselves into being certs, Barry this season especially. I think there's one spot up for grabs on that left handside for the next game and Naismith has to have claimed it, there's literally nothing more that he could do.

Form is everything for strikers. Forget how good he is or isn't, you don't drop a player who's just scored a hattrick in any league game let alone against the champions, it'd be utter stupidity.

He's an average to slightly above average Premier League footballer. Which, in fact, makes him pretty fantastic at football. Having said that, I'd have no problem having him come off the bench- clearly it's a role that he's suited to and I don't think he's the type of player to have it affect him negatively.

You can't bench him after he's scored a hatrick the previous week.

He's said in interview that he's found being on the bench frustrating, and if he didn't start after that performance then it'd destroy his moral. He's earned a starting berth it's up to him to ensure that he keeps it.

Depends if Roberto wants to use the same tactics vs swansea that he did against Chelsea really.

Drop a player?
He came on as sub didn't he?
Yeah, you're absolutely right. We go with Besic and watch him gingerly amble up the wing on crutches...
he plays about ten times better off the bench then he ever does staring
to be honest, it's more of a bewildered gawp than a stare...

It depends how Martinez wants to play it. One thing is for sure, people can't moan if he starts, like they did when he came on for Besic last week. No one can deny he has earned his place in the starting 11
