I think sometimes players can bring more to a club than just their on field performances. I know it sounds strange but the lad seems to be a popular figure among the players and if he brings a bit of harmony to the group and also gives guidance and a sense of perspective to the younger lads, ie Stones etc then im all for keeping him. He is a nuisance on the pitch also and can come up with a goal when needed on occasion.

Good on you Naisy, keep going lad! 8 Mil on transfer deadline day....no chance!

I understand what you are saying, but £8 mill is a very good bid. Could have been banked for winter transfer window.
He isn't going to get many games from here on, his value will drop accordingly.
A transfer to Norwich would have meant he would have played regularly.
But like out No. 10 it didn't happen.

Crying and shaking that we missed the opportunity to get £8m for a player that will fetch us £1m if we're lucky next season. Baffled isn't the word

Not accepting 8m because it was too late in the window. I would of accepted to part ways with him for free myself.

8m for Steven Naismith. Incredible. So mind boggling that its laughable...

Regardless of Bobby thinking he's a left winger he's one of three strikers at the club that's actually got a top flight goal tally. Rom gets a knock and we're praying Kone's still alive and functioning or playing the unproven South American kid. Great money for him, sadly it wasn't a week or so earlier as it would have been a good business decision.

To be fair, Steven Fletcher and Ross McCormack have both been sold for in excess of £10 million, and Naismith offers considerably more than those two. When you put it into that context it's not an over-inflated price tag at all.

Jordan Rhodes as well gets associated with hefty price tags, he can't even get in the Scotland squad and has no PL experience
