*checks the vaults to see the Anti-Naismith Brigade's reaction to his hat-trick against Chelsea*

Hypocrites most of you.
Yes because people are clearly going to be fuming when a player scores three goals.

It was what it was: a woeful player having his one moment of glory. The highlight of his career, something that will never be repeated by him.

While other teams play strikers because they score goals and are ace at football, Martinez plays 'Wee Naisy' because he gives loads of tickets to smackheads and hangs around in the dole office after training sessions.

Somebody package him up and send him back to Rangers.

Unlikely, he'd claim asylum, they'd rip him to shreads at Ibrox. I expect he's still getting bullets in the post off them.

  1. He's not a winger.
  2. He's not suitable playing whilst Barkley is in that advanced midfielder role.
  3. His best position is in that pocket of space in between the front man and the midfield.
  4. He's pretty decent in-and-around the box.
  5. He's not technically gifted and does not suit our style of play.

The key point is (5)...it makes sense for us to have a squad full of players who play the 'Martinez way'...however good to have one or two to alter the tactics when needs be.

However having Naismith wouldnt alter our tactics so much other than needing not to pass to him unless hes in the 6 yard box thrown on when were chasing a game and launching balls into the box.

Hes like a superstar the rest of the team has to carry...but hes not a superstar.

As someone has said, his best role is the second strike position. Anywhere else he is largely ineffective. Expect to see him dropped for Kone or Cleverley this weekend, but will probably start against Norwich.

If he is not technically gifted, but his best position is off the striker then he shouldn't really be playing at this level
