Naismith had an awful game last week, deservedly hooked at half time. It's only one game though, it happens. Players better than Naismith have had complete nightmare performances.

I really don't understand. The setup was atrociously negative against United, and I can't see anything different against Arsenal.

He's a negative manager nowadays, unfortunately. I reckon that 4-0 derby defeat in his first season gave him an almighty shock to the system. Problem is, he's gone too far the other way and is now constantly thinking about how to set up to stop the opposition rather than playing on the front foot and causing them problems. Naismith and Lennon playing to offer "protection" to our full backs, even though we already have two defensive midfielders on? That is such a Moyes thing to do

Has anyone got stats to show he 'puts a shift in' like how many KM a game he averages compared to the rest?

@deipnosophist might have some stats on that

My tracking software concludes that for every 1 metre run by other players, Naisy runs 3.14159265359... metres. I'd imagine if you wanted to represent this graphically , a pi chart would be most apposite...

I personally think it was the 6-3 against Chelsea that changed him. We still played some good attacking football in the 2nd half of his first season.

Does a trained experienced professional football manager really change his outlook to playing the game over 1 bad result?

Wouldn't that be massive kneejerking?

Did you say that after the Chelsea game?

I agree he shouldn't be starting every game, but unfortunately due to injuries/suspensions we've been limited down that side. With Cleverley hopefully back fit soon, he'll likely be back to being on the bench.
Trust you me, I'm very consistent in my opinion of him. He's norwich quality, deffo not Everton quality.

He's more than a capable squad player. And in all fairness, in the games since the Chelsea game, there's not one I wouldn't have started him in - given the list of injuries and suspensions we've had.

Now we've got players coming back, it should be a different story.
